How to Become a Member of CMII
Membership Eligibility: Categories
Members
Any medium-sized company or firm in India engaged in manufacturing or present in the services sector, including banks, financial institutions, law firms, hospitals, travel/ tourism & hospitality, films, media (print and electronic), digital entertainment, advertising, publishing, and fashion, are eligible.
Members in this category participate in annual elections to the National/ Regional/ State Councils and have voting rights.
Associate Members
Representative offices of foreign companies operating in India as Liaison Offices, approved by the Reserve Bank of India, are eligible. Associate Membership may be converted to full Member status when the Liaison Office becomes a full-fledged company engaged in commercial production/services generating sales turnover. Associate Members do not have the power to occupy seats on the National/ Regional/State Councils and do not possess voting rights.
Affiliated Associations
Associations/ Councils/ Organizations with industry interests are eligible. CMII affiliation does not affect the autonomy or independence of affiliated bodies, which retain the right to make their own decisions & pursue their own objectives. Affiliated Associations do not have voting rights. National Affiliated Associations participate in elections to the National Council but do not have voting rights. Regional Affiliated Associations do not have the power to occupy seats.
Institutional Members
Professional Institutes/ Organizations/ Boards with industry interests, primarily focused on information collection and dissemination, research and development, technical upgrades, exploration of new resources, etc. (distinct from industry Associations/Councils/Organizations), are eligible. Institutional Members do not have the power to occupy seats on the National/Regional/State Councils and do not possess voting rights.
Membership Admission Process
Application
To become a Member of CMII, a company or firm must submit a written application on the prescribed form, signed by the applicant. The application should include an acceptance of, and agreement to abide by, the rules and regulations of CMII.
Approval
Such an application must be proposed by one member and seconded by another member. The Regional Council of the relevant region may admit the application after approval by the Regional/State office-bearers.

- Certificate of incorporation (for newly established companies).
- Registration Certificate as per MSME Act or certification by auditors/authority
- List of Key Management Personnel.
- Statement of your expectations from CMII.
- Last year’s Annual Report and audit accounts of the Parent Company.
- Copy of the approval from the Reserve Bank of India.
- Memorandum & Rules of Association.
- Copy of Registration Certificate.
- List of Governing Council members (along with addresses) of your association.
- List of Members.
- A brief note on how your association would benefit from affiliation with CMII.
- Last Annual Report & Audited Accounts of your association.
